When will the elections to the European Parliament be held in 2024?
This year the European Parliament elections will be held on Sunday 9th June between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. On that day, each citizen entitled to vote can exercise their right at the electoral commission relevant to his registered address.
How often do elections to the European Parliament take place?
The European Parliament elections are held every five years. The last elections were held in 2019. We elected 52 euro-deputies at that time.
Who is elected in the European Parliament elections?
During voting, we will receive a list with candidates running for the European Parliament. In the European Parliament elections, we will elect 53 euro-deputies. Residents of Wroclaw vote in the district no. 12, which encompasses Lower Silesia and the Opole region.
Citizens of 27 states belonging to the European Union will elect 720 deputies for the European Parliament.

What does the European Parliament do?
The European Parliament approves legal acts that are in force in all countries of the European Union. They concern economy, customs duties, subsidies, as well as social issues, the labour market and financial law. As many as 70 per cent of legal acts valid in Poland passed through the European Parliament. Each term of the European Parliament lasts five years. The European Parliament comprises 720 euro-deputies, who are representatives of 27 member states of the European Union.
