Wroclaw awarded with Trójka Quality Mark [PHOTOS]

"Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is the 1733. edition of Programme 3's Hit Chart, coming to you from Wroclaw. Next week, the list will turn 33. Where did the time go?" radio listeners heard Marek Niedzwiecki, preceded by a characteristic Trójka jingle. Also, the residents of Wroclaw heard him the square next to the Świebodzka footbridge on Friday at 19.00 - that is, when the already cult Programme 3. of the Polish Radio is on the air. The very popular music journalist, who managed to sign many autographs and have pictures taken even before the broadcast started, then gave the floor to the director of the Programme 3. Magda Jethon and Rafał Dutkiewicz, the mayor of Wroclaw.

Magda Jethon: "We are here to confirm the words said on April 1 on the air of Programme 3. (...) that for the first time ever, the journalists of Trójka have decided to honour the city with the Quality Mark. And it turned out that nine out of ten members of the jury decided that Wroclaw is to be the city. (...) Justifying our position, we stated that the accolade is for the "soul, character, beauty and intelligence". These are really the qualities for which, we, the people of Trójka, love Wroclaw".

Receiving the special award on behalf of the city, mayor Dutkiewicz said that "Wroclaw was proud and happy," and declared that the Trójka Quality Mark "will be placed on all entrance routes to the city," to boast about it. In reciprocation however, and to honour his promise, the mayor awarded Trójka with a gift - another Wroclaw dwarf, specially dedicated to the popular Polish radio station.

The dwarf-radio host - wielding a microphone with a Trójka box on it, a tape recorder and headphones on his ears - was solemnly unveiled by director Jethon, who promised that the radio will announce a contest for its name.

The special edition of the "Hit Chart" also featured distinguished guests, as well as surprises for the audience.

One of the first to appear in a special Trójka tent was Marek Niedzwiecki, who signed his books and Trójka compilation CDs for the fans. Rumour has it some people specifically came from outside of Wroclaw to meet with their favourite journalists and presenter.

In an impromptu "Walendzik Shop" available were also Trójka gadgets. Later, during the outdoor "Hit Chart", the audience could hear and see the guests invited to the programme - the artists associated with the Lower Silesian capital: Lech Janerka, Martyna Jakubowicz, Łukasz LUC Rostkowski, Stanislaw Szelc and Leszek Możdżer.

Besides, there was a lot of good, hit music on the air until 22.00, as usual.
