The plan provides for the renovation of the building in Plac Solny 11b, a road overhaul, bicycle racks installation and new lighting underneath the stairs. Dirt and graffiti will be removed from the wall that surrounds the side-street. "Additionally, we will have greenery pruned to bring out the surrounding historic architecture," says designer Maciej Małachowicz. "Several years from now, the place was dirty and forlorn," says Mariola Apanel from the Wroclaw City Office, who is also responsible for the regeneration process. Unfortunately, the work may cause some inconvenience to the residents as the walkway connecting the street with ul Szajnochy will be closed to the public. "We are planning to open the walkway on 1 December. While the residents will be able to use their favourite shortcut, we will be carrying on the work at the back of the houses.
Bars and restaurants in the area will be open throughout the renovation process. "Our goal is not to disturb their customers," adds Mariola Apanel.
