The fountain in Plac Orląt Lwowskich has been closed for several days now. This is due to failure. "The pump is damaged. And we need to order a new one with the producer in Germany. The delivery and installation will take around three weeks to complete," explains Ewa Mazur, Spokeswoman for the Road and City Infrastructure Management Office in Wroclaw. Ms Mazur says the pump will we replaced before the beginning of the next year's season.
Another eight fountains will be phased out by the end of the week. The fountain season usually begins on 1 April and comes to an end on 31 October. "In some years we decide to extend the season. This was the case last year, when the spring was warm and the fountains began to operate at the last weekend of March
The Road and City Infrastructure Management Office has just agreed the tender to prepare and maintain nine Wroclaw's fountains and the ZDRÓJ water intake in ul Świdnicka in the 2015 season. The services will cost 830 thousand PLN.
The Office is also planning to have the swordsman monument restored in Plac Uniwersytecki. "That's why we need to have it dismantled for several weeks," says Ewa Mazur.
