Parkrun is a timed run at a distance of 5 km, held every week throughout the year. Participation in the event is free, but registration in advance is required. Next, please print out and bring with you the Individual Participant Number. Since everyone runs for their own satisfaction in the parkrun, the running pace is individual for every participant. Open Day in MPK

10 am - 3 pm, depot at ul. Powstańców Śląskich 6, free admission

Once again, the Municipal Communication Enterprise (MPK) opens its depot for all lovers of public transport. Depot at ul. Powstańców Śląskich welcomes to an open day.

The programme includes:

    • tram driving course
    • rides with historic trams and buses to depots: Dabie and RMT Protram,
    • bus ride to the bus depot,
    • presentation of vehicles and technical equipment,
    • contests with prizes and other attractions.
    • bike marking, sports, a concert.

Tour of the depot in ul. Legnicka and Dąbie.

Echno Color - festiwal muzyki i kolorów w ToTu

Echno Color - a festival of music and color in ToTu

COLOR ECHNO comprises two scenes, a unique line-up, colourful installations, food trucks and over 26 hours of music and magical light visualizations. The interior and surrounding premises of ToTu will turn into a colourful, magical space open to everyone.

The event will keep running until Sunday and the time will be filled with an incredible Polish-German line-up, light displays, visualisations and installations.

At the market represented are products of fifteen regions of Italy, including Tuscany, Piedmont, Lombardy, Liguria, Puglia, Sardinia and Lazio. There will be stand with olives, cheeses, cold meats, pastas and sweets, including Sicilian cream horns or cannoli. Many of the products are new on our market. There will be also a restaurant stand and a range of sampling, presentations and culinary shows will be provided. Buyers can count on the presence of Polish retailers - besides the Italian service at every booth.

'ECC Parks' - parks full of culture: space put in the hands of the residents of Wroclaw

Poludniowy Park (on a clearing near the Chopin monument), Grabiszyński Park (near ul. Solskiego, by the playground) and the Staszic Park (near the fountain) 2 - 7 pm, Jedności Park (ul. Królewska, by the terminus)

'ECC Parks' were created in parks: Południowy, Grabiszyński and Staszica, as well as in Jedności Park in Zakrzów by the initiative of the European Capital of Culture. The pavilions are open during the holidays every Saturday and Sunday, 12 am to 7 pm.

If the schedule does not include pre-scheduled meetings and events, anyone is welcome to present their interests and talents. This is the last weekend in the ECC Parks.

Museum of Postal Service in Wroclaw, ul. Z. Krasinskiego 1

Although few can even indicate its location on the map, Berdyczów still features in a popular Polish saying: 'Write to me at Berdyczów.' Memorabilia from the famous Berdyczów, which was first made famous thanks to a fantastic postal service only to decline into a synonym of undelivered mail, as well as other borderland cities that have been lost to Poland, can be seen at the exhibition of the Museum of Postal Service in Wroclaw. The exhibition features original photos, which captured the moments presenting the bygone epoch and the lost heritage.

The programme includes, e.g. concerts - a jazz parade, live cooking shows, fashion shows, workshops for children and the seniors, historical walks, and an opening of a photographic gallery. At the fountain, up to the intersection with ul. Szewska, there will be a stage, and the event will be hosted by Marek Kocot. The summary of Ulica Oławska Festival will be a concert at 8 pm in the Jazz Club Vertigo.

The sporting event is organized by Inkubatory AIP Wroclaw and Jatomi Fitness. Great fun in the spirit of healthy competition is guaranteed. The competition will comprise a warm-up and 4 endurance competitions requiring cooperation. Each participant will receive water and a towel, and there will be surprise awards, too.

Thanks to the summer music scene Plac Społeczny comes alive and has a chance to become a creative space for urban activism. Three local artists: Anna Szejdewik, Beata Rojek and Ewa Rebekaa Służyńska will creat murals, and No Name Team - a graffiti.

Painting murals starts at 2 pm and will last until late evening.

The Mobility Parade, organized by the Akcja Miasto Association will present a multitude of choices, styles and means of getting around the city, as the car is not the only alternative to the tram or bus - a bicycle, skateboard or scooter, and even walking are great options. Each of them is not only a source of fun, but also perfectly complements the more traditional methods of urban travelling - not to mention it helps to maintain a slim figure. Anyone can join and demonstrate their preference:

    • walking
    • riding a monocycle
    • riding a bike
    • roller skating
    • roller blading
    • skateboarding
    • riding a scooter
    • anything which is not driven by a motor

A PICNIC will be waiting for participants of the parade on Uniwersytecki Bridge, as well as many attractions.

On Sunday, September 20th at Piaskowa Island takes place the inauguration of the Workout Week. Piaskowa Island will host a sports picnic featuring non-Olympic sports, karate and yoga for the citizens of Wroclaw, as well as joint volleyball, badminton, and Turnbull games. Volunteers can try their hand in archery, climbing and orienteering.

Gajowice District Council organizes a Gajowice Festival for the local residents in a nearby park. As every year, the trees will include a surprise for the guests. The programme includes numerous performances of children and teenagers from nearby educational institutions. In addition, there will be a raffle prepared by parents and students of the School No. 11, refreshments in a neighbourhood café run by the Senior Club, creative activities for children (including a chess tournament), health consultations, promotion of ideas submitted for the Civic Budget in 2015, and joint planting of a tree.

Their plans may be spoiled by Elpada from the stable of Robert Swiatek, which fast at the finish.
