Green projects win, but the budget is more diversified than a year ago
In WBO 2021, green projects definitely won. 12 out of 20 winning projects are greenery-related tasks. The winners include also 3 playgrounds, 2 walking & cycling path projects and one project from each remaining category.
Winning housing estate projects
12 out of 96 submitted housing estate projects were selected: 7 in the green areas / recreation category, 3 playgrounds, 1 road project (rebuilding of ul. Kminkowa) and 1 lighting installation project (Ołbin).
The following projects gathered most votes (above 3,000):
- MAŚLICKI PARK Stage 2 Project implementation update. Playground and walking & cycling path projects. Implementation of Stage 1: 3,414 votes
- Jolly hill – Green squares of Pilczyce, Stage 2: 3,404 votes
- Rebuilding of ul. Kminkowa (Stage 1), greenery on housing estate streets: 3,280 votes
- Leonardo da Vinci Park in Gądów Mały – Stage 4 and completion of winning projects: 3,248 votes
- Mieszczański Park – Active Zone between Nadodrze and Szczepin: 3,080 votes
Winning municipal projects
As in the previous year, 8 municipal projects will be approved for implementation this year. Five of them are ‘green’ projects. The winners include also 2 walking & cycling path projects and 1 project from the revitalisation category.
Two projects won most votes (above 5,000):
- Green equals life, movement equals health – Gajowice, Maślice, Ołbin and Zakrzów – parks, recreation and greenery throughout the city: 6,335 votes
- I FEEL GREEN AND SAFE – Stage 3. Parks, green areas and roads. Lipa Piotrowska, Pawłowice, Widawa, Sołtysowice, Polanowice – Poświętne – Ligota: 5,904 votes
9,000 more women than men took part in the WBO 2021 voting. Altogether, 47,536 women and 38,433 men submitted their votes. There were 416 more votes from seniors and 1,126 more from children up to the age of 12 than last year.
