In the Uraz harbour, it is possible to hire a kayak, but the best way is to book it. On a warm July Sunday morning, a team of Wroclaw inhabitants hired 10 kayaks in Uraz. 'They sailed to Lubiąż,’ says the harbour employee. It takes all day to travel 40 km there from Uraz down the slowly flowing Oder. On the way, you pass by Brzeg Dolny, Malczyce and some other places; you can admire not only nature, but also historical sites, ruins of bunkers, palaces or industrial facilities. In Uraz, you can hire also sailing boats, motor boats, water bikes, rowing boats, as well as windsurfing and water skiing equipment. The harbour is a popular place among motorboat racers and anglers, who bring their private boats here. In the harbour, there are 100 places for all types of boats, a slipway, and a quay with access to electrical energy and water.
Pirate ship
The Uraz harbour offers attractions to less active visitors, too. From the harbour, you can sail by ferry to the other side of the Oder. In Prężyce, there is a cosy and charming beach and a bathing area over the Oder reservoir – the former gravel mine. In the harbour itself, you can also spend your spare time interestingly. There is a tavern and a barbecue on the spot, and concerts, outdoor parties with live music and weekend discos are often organised here. Children will not get bored, either. From a distance, they can observe carefully figures of pirates on the sailing ship that is the main part of the playground. At first, they become accustomed to the sight of a menacing sailor, and the single-mast ship is boarded at a later time. Guests have an opportunity to stay in Uraz for longer. Rooms and small houses are available for rent here. A single room with breakfast costs 99 PLN per day, and a six-person house that provides a admirable view of the Oder costs 360 PLN.
