European football returns to Wroclaw once again. According to the decision made by the UEFA’s Executive Committee in Nyon, Switzerland, the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League 2024/2025 will be played at the Tarczyński Arena.
2025 Europa Conference League: final in Wroclaw
The UEFA Europa Conference League is the third level of UEFA continental club games after the Champions League and the Europa League. Until now, two seasons of this league have taken place. They were won successively by Italy’s AS Roma and England’s West Ham United. The winner of the Europa Conference League is automatically qualified to the group phase of the Europa League in the next season. Three Polish clubs participate in the qualification phase of the current Europa Conference League: Pogoń Szczecin, Lech Poznań and Legia Warsaw.
Marcin Przychodny, President of the Management Board of Stadion Wrocław Sp. z o.o. – the company managing the Tarczyński Arena Wroclaw: It is a wonderful news for us that we will host a UEFA league final.
Tarczyński Arena Wrocław: Euro 2012, UEFA Nations League, and now a European cup final
‘After all, our stadium was built on the occasion of UEFA EURO 2012 and hosted three matches of the group phase. UEFA Nations League or World Cup qualification matches have been held here. The Tarczyński Arena was also the venue for Śląsk Wrocław in European cups. Now, however, we have been entrusted with a much more significant role. The organisation of the last and most important match of the competition featuring such famous brands as AS Roma, FC Basel, SS Lazio, West Ham United or Leicester City must be on the absolutely top level. It is an amazing opportunity to show the stadium and the city to the guests who will arrive in large numbers in Wroclaw from other corners of Europe,’ adds Marcin Przychodny.
Wroclaw is the fourth host of the Europa Conference League final
Wroclaw will be the fourth city to host two best teams of the UEFA Europa Conference League after Tirana, Prague and Athens. Cezary Kulesza, President of the Polish Football Association, did not hide his satisfaction with the UEFA’s decision.
