The culmination wave on the Oder is expected to reach Wroclaw on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. At the peak moment, the wave can be 650 cm high. The city has reinforced the flood embankments in the neuralgic places, e.g. Kozanow and Opatowice – these terrains are regularly inundated when the river's water level is higher. Our priority is to protect inhabitants from the effects of the flood. In the endangered terrains, people obtain sandbags and the inhabitants willingly help indemnify their houses. We opened special consultative points where inhabitants can receive support. Appeal: Please check only official information to avoid disinformation. In social medias, there is plenty of fake news like water poisoning in taps or compulsory evacuations.
1. Support for Territorial Defense Army and firemen and a reminder of support in laying sandbags in Marszowice
2. Accessibility of sandbags. There are 300000 sandbags in the stadium.
3. Education and care. Schools and kindergartens function normally but directors make individual decisions considering the current circumstances.
4. Communication and safety. The most important is to follow official information sources and avoid fake news. Walking on embankments is not permitted.
5. Readiness of the services. The army and the fire brigades are ready for action. Water in the taps is potable.
6. Monitoring of the situation. The growth of the water level is expected from 12.00.
The situation is being observed incessantly and all changes will be communicated.
