- An urgent request for help: Drivers, especially those with trucks and lorries, are encouraged to help transport sandbags. Drivers and anyone willing to help are welcome to continue to help secure the embankments in the affected regions.
- Safety and responsibility: It is important for residents to avoid walking on dikes as the strain on them can lead to their weakening. A ‘zero tolerance’ has been introduced for people ignoring these recommendations, which may result in fines.
- Involvement of the services: the Territorial Defence Forces, firefighters, municipal wardens and soldiers are doing a great deal of work in support of the flood control measures. So far, 200 tonnes of sand have already been sent to the most vulnerable areas.
