The candidates for the post of rector were professors: Karol Kiczka (lawyer), Bogusław Pawłowski (professor of biological sciences), Leszek Pułka (philologist and media expert) and Przemysław Wiszewski (historian).The current head of the university, prof. Adam Jezierski could not apply for re-election due to exceeding the statutory limit of 67 years of age.
Exceptional election at the stadium
Participants entered the stadium with four entrances. They sat on the stands always separated from one another by a few empty places. The candidates presented themselves and their programme from the terrace of the businessman's club. The electors could watch them on large screens.
First plans of the new rector
When asked about the first plans and first decisions, the newly elected rector replied that first of all the university administration should become more smooth, transparent and friendly. – At the same time, we are facing the challenges resulting from the current state of epidemic. If in the autumn there would be another “lockdown”, then we must be well prepared for it, both from the organisational and didactical point of view – added the newly elected rector.
