In spite of the lasting pandemic and the closure of schools, initiatives improving the comfort of education in schools are undertaken in Wroclaw. The latest actions are addressed to girls – students of Wroclaw schools, who will have an opportunity to use free hygiene products necessary for the time of menstruation after their return to schools taking part in the project ‘A Pink Box in Every School!’.

How to reduce menstruation poverty in Poland

Pink boxes in Wroclaw educational institutions are an initiative of a group of activists acting under the name ‘Pink Box’, who promote the idea of reducing menstruation poverty in Poland. The initiative was launched in Wroclaw, and its organisers are Adrianna Klimaszewska, Bożena Powaga and Lucyna Cwiach. The campaign supported by the city is aimed at increasing the availability of hygiene products necessary during menstruation. The lack of easy access to these products is a serious obstacle to the daily functioning of women and girls. It affects particularly schoolgirls, who are often forced to resign from schoolwork.

Until today, the campaign has been joined by:

  • 19 primary schools,
  • 7 secondary schools.

These institutions will use grant support.
