New Wroclaw University of Technology embankment on Oder [PHOTOS]

The construction of the embankment at Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego marks another stage in the plan of the Wroclaw University of Technology to give a new lease of life to the Oder riverfront. The first stage brought a complete renovation of the former marina building. The university allocated 10 million PLN for the purpose. One of the parts in the building which houses a gym and a boat storage unit will be offered to the university's rowing section.

The riverfront also called for renovation. Just behind the university's facilities a new embankment is going to emerge, with a typical pedestrian area overlooking the historic Water Tower across the river. The allocated plot of land is also expected to feature three beach volleyball courts, lawns and stairs leading to the very bank of the river. The design also provides for water sports facilities. New jetties and slips to descend a boat or haul it back on land will be installed at the marina.

The project will be carried out by PARK-M Sp. z o.o.
