The office is located right beside one of the bigger streets in the city. The walls of this building were regularly devastated with vulgar inscriptions. Their removal was costly and time-consuming.
The mural was designed and made by Grażyna Małkiewicz – a graduate of the Wroclaw Academy of Fine Arts.
‘The colour of the mural is not accidental. We wanted to show in black and white that we object to hate speech in public space. After many months of efforts, we have found a local artist who agreed to design and paint a mural of equality free of charge. The design was approved by the municipal visual artist. The mural was finished in the middle of September and has already aroused positive emotions among inhabitants,’ explains Andrzej Margielewski, the head of the Customer Service Office no. 10 of the Municipal Resource Administration in Wroclaw.
The mural on the building of the Customer Service Office of the MRA has an area of 40 sq.m. The artist needed four days to prepare the mural. It has already been protected against further acts of vandalism.
