Marciniak Hospital moves to ul. Fieldorfa

Data publikacji: Autor:

In ten days takes place the final move of the Marciniak Hospital to its new headquarters at ul. Fieldorfa in Stabłowice. From September, it will admit patients at the new location. In connection with the move, this week the hospital began to limit the admission of patients.

Transfer of T. Marciniak Lower Silesia Specialist Hospital to a new hospital at ul. Fieldorfa is scheduled for 31 August. Patients to be transferred on that day are those who are undergoing treatment, and the rest of the equipment. Because this is a very complex organizational and logistical operation, it requires maintaining extraordinary security measures. Even now, it is necessary to gradually limit the functioning of the hospital in its old location.

From Wednesday, 19 August the hospital at al. Wiśniowa (former Kolejowy Hospital), which is part of the Marciniak Hospital, will admit only patients with previous appointment. Patients who completed treatment are discharged to their homes. All other patients - according to the agreement concluded with the ambulance service and medical facilities in Wroclaw - will receive the necessary assistance in other hospitals. From 25 August limited will also be admissions of patients at the Hospital Emergency Ward in ul. Traugutta.

Specialist clinics - will admit patients in the both existing hospital locations until 3 pm on 28 August.

The ward will admit patients only in emergency cases until 7 am on 31 August, and from 7 am, already in ul. Fieldorfa.

In the first week of the New Regional Hospital's operation - because this is what the new facility will be called - the number of admitted patients will also be limited. The time is needed for the staff to familiarize with the new building, location, rooms and the new equipment. The New Regional Hospital will reach its full operational capacity on September 7. The hospital will also have all new phone numbers.

Drawing to a close are now the works related to arranging the new hospital, which is being equipped with mostly new and very modern equipment.

Super equipment and more

The building will be equipped with, among others, 5.5 million-worth, state of the art in Poland, O-ARM apparatus, which is a special type of a CT scanner. It will allow to e.g. conduct a very complex spinal surgery. The hospital will also run a nuclear medicine ward with two gamma cameras, a rehabilitation ward, an endoscopy ward with four treatment rooms, diagnostic imaging ward, equipped with two CT scanners, a magnetic resonance, two stationary X-ray cameras, two angiographs, an ultrasound, a central sterilization room and pneumatic mail system, connecting all the hospital wards, the hospital pharmacy and the laboratory.

The hospital will have 550 beds, 15 wards and a clinic with 20 consultation specialisations. Patients will be offered comfortable 2-bed rooms, all with private bathrooms, TVs and wireless internet access. At the disposal of patients, each ward will have a kitchenette with a fridge, kettle and microwave, and children's rooms will have beds for parents.

The new hospital is one of the biggest investments of the local government of Lower Silesia. The over 380 million facility is one of the most modern of its kind in Poland.
