"Best in Travel" awards are presented by one of the most influential tourist publishers in the world. Poland and Lithuania are the only two European countries to make it to the final ten. The Polish section's focus is on Wroclaw. Lonely Planet's experts elaborate on the city's historic architecture and mention the Orange Alternative which later served as an inspiration for over 300 dwarves to be scattered around the city. They also write more about beer gardens and the Racławice Panorama. They suggest that the best time to visit Wroclaw is in 2016, when the city takes over as the European Capital of Culture and will abound with cultural events. "Wroclaw is now preparing to champion the European Capital of Culture idea. The preparations are also adding lustre to other Polish cities and tourist attractions," says Lonely Planet in Poland's recommendation for 2016. The "Best in Travel 2016" Award will be presented during an official gala to be held on 1 November. The honour will be accepted by the Polish Tourist Organisation representatives. Many other honours have been offered to Wroclaw in recent days. The capital of Lower Silesia has just received a recommendation from TripAdvisor, a tourist service followed by travellers worldwide. The service mentions the Wroclaw zoo, which is the earliest in Poland, over 100 bridges and Poland's largest fountain.
