The stage on Wroclaw Market Square is ready. Polish and foreign stars will perform there on New Year’s Eve – see who will play and sing.
New Year’s Eve 2015 on Market Square in Wroclaw

Market Square
As we have already informed you, there will be no firework show after midnight this year. In order not to make this night miserable for animals, Wroclaw will not shoot. City clerks encourage also all inhabitants to resign from fireworks. ‘There will be no fireworks this year, as we realise how animals react to them. We have another surprise in store for participants, which we believe will be equally attractive,’ says Małgorzata Wojciechowska from the City Promotion Office.
The organisers encourage participants to choose means of public transport on their way to Market Square this evening. Additional night bus trips will be provided on that occasion. At the same time, inhabitants are requested to show patience and understanding – a huge event like this may involve some temporary traffic problems.
Car parks
- If you decide to arrive at Market Square by car, a car park will be available under the National Forum of Music. In addition, a paid car park on Pl. Nowy Targ square will function on a round-the-clock basis.
- Like every year, there will be parking restrictions on the streets around Market Square. The first of them were introduced already on the night of 28th December.
- Parking will be prohibited on the following streets: Szewska (from Ofiar Oświęcimskich to Grodzka), Igielna, Więzienna (from Market Square to Kotlarska), Kuźnicza (to Nożownicza), Oławska, Gepperta and Ofiar Oświęcimskich (from Gepperta to Świdnicka).
- In addition, roadblocks will be placed on 31st December and it will not possible to enter most of the streets around Market Square.

Safety
- The safety of participants in the New Year’s Eve event will be watched over by 100 city guard officers, additional police patrols and, obviously, security guards. ‘We must remember that a hired security company is responsible for the safety of participants during such a huge mass event, and each security guard is allowed to give instructions to those who participate in the party,’ stresses Waldemar Forysiak. Three ambulances will be parked near the Market Square, a first aid point will traditionally be set up in Sukiennice, and the area will be patrolled on foot by medical rescuers – altogether, there will be 8 patrols.
- City clerks request also restaurant owners from Market Square to ensure that their customers do not go outside with glass bottles of liquor at midnight or earlier.
- Apart from that, the organisers remind us to pay attention to any packages left unattended and request us to report such findings to appropriate services.
The following items must not be brought into the premises:
- weapons, dangerous items,
- explosives and pyrotechnic articles,
- alcoholic beverages, abusive and psychotropic substances,
- glass packagings, knives, sticks and any other objects that may be hazardous to life or health.
The organisers will deny entry to persons who:
- are under the influence of alcohol or any other abusive substances,
- behave in an impolite, offensive or rude manner

Entrance to the event
- The event area will be made available to the audience on 31st December 2015 from 6:30 p.m..
- The event area can be entered from Pl. Solny square (from ul. Gepperta and ul. Ruska), from ul. Oławska and ul. Świdnicka and from ul. Szewska.
- Emergency exits lead towards ul. Oławska, ul. Ofiar Oświęcimskich, ul. Szewska, ul. Kuźnicza, ul. Więzienna, Pl. Solny square and Zaułek Solny.
Medical aid
- The medical aid point will be situated at ul. Sukiennice 9. One of the three ambulances will be parked there, too. Further ambulances will be available near the stage and on Pl. Solny square. Participants are strongly request to report all cases of people needing help to relevant services.
- The backstage will be entirely closed: ul. Odrzańska from ul Igielna to Market Square and ul. św. Mikołaja from ul. Kiełbaśnicza.
- The square in front of the garrison basilica will also be closed.
Dining
- Dining points will be located, similarly to last year’s event, on Pl. Solny square.
Toilets
- Toilets will be placed on Pl. Solny square, at ul. Oławska and in the Przejście Garncarskie passage.
Weather
According to forecasts, the weather on the last night of 2015 will be fine, without any precipitation, with frost ranging from -7 to -4 degrees.
