Berenika is twenty-five years old. She works as a pole dance instructor at Sunset Girl Pole Dance Studio. She began her pole dancing adventure in 2009. She has been an instructor for a year and a half. Her achievements include: 3rd Prize in 1. Nationwide Pole Dance Competition in Wroclaw 2011, 1st Prize in 2. Poland Pole Dance Championships in the Soloist-Beginner category 2013 and 14th position in the European Pole Dance Championships in 2013. She also does photo-modelling as a hobby. And she loves tattoos. She is proud to have four tattoos herself. Two ribbons on her thighs, an elf on her ankle and an English inscription along her ribs which says: Always be yourself and never regret who you are. The audience of the show could also see Berenika in a variety of hairdos. She gave a performance as a blonde, brunette and as a lively redhead.
Full of beans
She began her adventure with sports when she was just five. "I was terribly lively as a child. My parents decided to channel this activity somehow and she enrolled me in gymnastics classes," she recalls. "It soon turned out that I am quite pliant and have no problem to stretch my body," adds Berenika. This is how her adventure with sports acrobatics began. The dancer graduated from sports school in Zielona Góra. She embarked on a programme in Pedagogy in Wroclaw. As she could not continue to practise acrobatics, she took to competitive aerobics instead. This is how she took interest in pole dance. "What I liked about it is that it was something completely new. The discipline requires that your body is extremely supple. The force of your body and hard work is enough to present strenuous sets and acrobatic figures," she says.
No fawning, just dance
Berenika's love for pole dance is a reciprocated one. When she dances, your eyes are simply riveted on her performance. She fluently passes from one figure to another and she seems to defy the law of gravity. She has been practising every day for the competition. The show has given her a lot of popularity and she is now receiving offers to run classes in various dance schools throughout the country. "I hope I have shown that pole dance is not only beautiful, but also demanding," she adds. "Unfortunately, however, pole dance is still considered to be a night club activity. But competitive pole dance is a completely different world. There is no fawning, they just use the pole as a tool in their complicated acrobatic figures," says the dancer. Does she want to win the show? That's obvious! That's why she took part in the casting. We are going to keep our fingers crossed for her, and so should you.
