Fall in love and adopt a cat

Data publikacji: Autor:

Eleven wonderful cats, little charges at Koci Zakątek are waiting for a new home. You can now enjoy their photographs at the exhibition "Fall in Love and Adopt. Little Charges at Koci Zakątek".

Several dozen beautiful portraits of cats can be seen at the first floor of the library. Bucio, Dżoker, Feliks, Koks, Węgiel, Florka, Maciek, Michałek, Aleksander, Franio and Łapcia. They differ in age and colour, and they also vary in their likings. They are all united by one thing. They were all saved by the volunteers of the Koci Zakątek foundation.

Not only can you contemplate these four-legged sitters in photographs, but you can also adopt them. All these cats are seeking new homes. This is the main goal of the exhibition. To promote the great cause and help cats find their new homes. The exhibition will remain on display until 15 April. Admission is free. The vernissage was held on Tuesday 17 March at 4.30 p.m.

Those who attended it could have a chat with the volunteers working for the foundation and with the author of the photographs, Monika Małek. The young photographer has been collaborating with the foundation for a quite a long time now, and regularly takes pictures of their four-legged charges.

"I've been taking snapshots of cats for a year only, but now I know I would like to devote my whole life to it. Taking photos of cats requires that you work on all fours, have quick reflexes, can act on the spur of the moment and move in this slow, feline manner not to spook the cat and can also adopt a cat's perspective while looking at the world," Monika describes her work. "I've taken quite a few photos so far, but each cat is different. My passion for photograph stems from the desire to help those in need. The initial goal was to help cats find new homes. Over time, however, I've been completely carried away, and taking photos for the foundation is simply not enough," she admits.
