Coach station to be demolished [PHOTOS]

"The new building is also planned to hold a modern coach station" says Krzysztof Balawejder, president of Polbus PKS. "It will feature departure stands in the underground, and ticket offices and the waiting room for passengers will be located on the ground floor of the new shopping centre. They will be connected with elevators and escalators, for the passengers' comfort."

The new facility will be open in 2017. The area of the old coach station, currently still available for travellers, is now undergoing preparatory works. On the other hand, ground works are carried out in front of the station, facing ul. Borowska.

The investor and present owner of the ground, on which the coach station is located is Wood sp. z o. o., a company that purchased it from Polbus PKS for over 100 million zlotys.

Also, night bus stops will change their location during construction works in the coach station. They will be moved to ul. Petrusewicza, near Aquapark, between ul. Ślężna i Borowska.
