  3. City bikes in Wroclaw from April: new stations, prices, rental rules

On 1st April 2025, Nextbike Polska should launch the Wroclaw City Bike rental service and will continue to expand it until September. The price list will remain the same for now and will probably change later. By September, all traditional bikes are to be new.

On 1st April, as announced by the city and the operator, Nextbike Polska will relaunch the Wroclaw City Bike (WRM) rental service. Initially, it will operate under an interim (temporary) system, which will be converted to the target (main) system by September.

1st part of the summer season of WRM 2025 (April–July)

  • 230 stations (a map should appear here soon) – the same number as last season,
  • 1,500 second-hand bikes after servicing,
  • prices: 20 minutes of free ride | £3 for the next 40 minutes | £6 for each additional hour started,
  • out-of-station return fee: PLN 7,
  • main rules: in order to use the rental service, the user needs to have an account in the WRM system and to download the free WRM or nextbike by TIER app; at least PLN 10 must be kept in the account; the app is primarily intended for renting and returning bikes and for checking the location of the stations.

2nd part of the WRM 2025 summer season (from 1st August)

  • 1,200 new traditional bicycles (to replace second-hand ones) and 100 electric bikes to start with;
  • another batch of 1,200 traditional bicycles will be delivered on 1st September, increasing the total number to 2,400;
  • 240 stations, including new ones on Malinowa, Marszowicka, Międzyrzecka and Ziemniaczana Streets, at the intersection of Grapowa and Sygnałowa, at the corner of Chachaja and Awicenny, at the intersection of Lekarska and Żmigrodzka and near the Centennial Hall;
  • new stations (22) also in municipalities near Wroclaw: Czernica, Kobierzyce, Kąty Wrocławskie, Siechnice and Wisznia Mała.
  • prices: to be determined by the organiser;
  • main rules: probably unchanged.

‘The old bikes should eventually disappear from the streets on 1st August, but, according to the bridge agreement, the city has the right to extend the operation of the transitional system until September. It may, therefore, happen that both old and new vehicles will be available on the streets of Wroclaw in August,’ stipulates Marcin Sałański from Nextbike Polska.

The contract with Nextbike is valid until 2029 (PLN 54.4 million). The plans are to expand the system in Wroclaw by two stations in 2026 and a further three in 2027. Rental points are also to appear near Wrocław Wojnów, Wrocław Wojszyce and Wrocław Zachodni railway stations.

In Wroclaw, the city rental service has operated for 13 years. At the beginning, in 2011, there were 140 bikes, which means a dozen times fewer than now. In 2024, the system recorded more than 1.5 million trips.
