  3. Changes in Wroclaw public transport as of 3rd September
Changes in Wroclaw public transport as of 3rd September Tomasz Hołod

At the beginning of September, Wroclaw inhabitants are waiting for changes in municipal public transport routes. The authorities have changed bus routes and the names of some stops and added new tram lines.

The public transport network has undergone the most serious changes for a long time. The main reason for these changes are two new routes: a tram line through Popowice and a bus & tram line to Nowy Dwór.

It is worth noting that some trams will run on other than presented routes from September. This is due to ongoing and planned reconstruction works: ul. Pomorska and Plac Staszica, the intersection near the Arkady (Capitol) stop, and the trackage at ul. Powstańców Śląskich.

New tram lines 13 and 22

  • Tram line 13 will run from Wrocław Nowy Dwór to Stadion Olimpijski (Olympic Stadium).
  • Tram line 22 will run on the Tarnogaj – Pilczyce route near the Main Railway Station, Plac Jana Pawła II [John Paul II Square] and Magnolia.

Tram lines with changed numbers or routes

  • Tram line 4 – change of the route. The section from Plac Legionów – Dworzec to Plac Grunwaldzki will have a different route: via Dworzec Główny and ul. Pułaskiego.
  • Tram line 5 – change of the terminus. Księże Małe – Grabiszyńska (Cmentarz).
  • Tram line 11 – Change of the terminus and the route. Oporów – Kromera.
  • Tram line 33 will change its number (12), terminus and route. Sępolno–Kozanów (Górnicza). Kozanów (Dokerska) – Sępolno.
  • Tram line 14 – change of the number from 74 to 14. Krzyki–Osobowice (shortened to the Dworzec Nadodrze station until the end of the reconstruction of ul. Pomorska till 8:10 a.m.).
  • Tram line 16 – change of the terminus and route for the reconstruction period till 8:10 a.m. The extension of the line from Rondo Reagana to the Dworzec Nadodrze station and farther to the Karłowice terminus will provide a better transport connection in the section from ul. Pułaskiego to Plac Staszica and Plac Osobowice.
  • Tram line 18 – change of the terminal station. Arena Tarczyńskiego (Królewiecka) – Gaj.
  • Tram line 21 – change of the number from 31 to 21. Arena Gaj – Tarczyński (Królewiecka).
  • Tram line 23 – change and extension of the route. Nowy Dwór – Kowale.

Bus lines

  • Bus line 152 will operate via Lotnicza, Aleja Śląska, Rondo Modzelewska, ul. Królewiecka and Rondo Bartoszewskiego to the Tarczyński Arena (Królewiecka) terminus.
  • Bus line 122 will operate via Hermanowska, Chociebuska, Gubińska, Strzegomska and Mińska streets. The last stop will be Muchobór Wielki (Roślinna).
  • Bus line 148 will depart from the area of the PKP Wrocław Żerniki station. Then they will run via Jerzmanowska and Aleja 11 Listopada to ul. Halicka and farther along the current route.
  • Bus line 107. It is another line whose route depends strongly on the date of putting Aleja 11 Listopada to use. Until the end of construction works, bus line 107 will run to the Jerzmanowo (Cmentarz) stop instead of the Pracza Odrzańska terminus.

Retain names

The city inhabitants requested that stops in the area of TAT in the Nowy Dwór district have other names than proposed by the authorities.

List of stop names:

  • The Wrocławski Park Przemysłowy stop will retain its current name (it will not be changed to Robotnicza).
  • The current Nowy Dwór stop will change its name to Strzegomska (intersection) instead of Gubińska.
  • Rogowska will change its name to Rogowska (P+R) instead of Strzegomska (P+R)
  • ROD Tysiąclecia will be changed to Rogowska (zagrody) instead of Komorowska
  • Nowy Dwór (pętla) will be changed to Wrocław Nowy Dwór (P+R).
  • Nowy Dwór (Rogowska) will become Rogowska (centrum sportu).
  • In addition, new tram and bus stops will be introduced at ul. Rogoska.
  • Their names are: Budziszyńska, Zemska (as currently) and Park Tysiąclecia.

The existing Park Tysiąclecia stop located at ul. Graniczna will change its name to Płaska.
