First morning frost heralds the approaching winter. It is still a lot of time to go before the most vibrant and awaited season, namely spring, arrives. However, the city is not idling its time away. Hence the action to plant bulbous plants in Wroclaw parks, squares and greens in the first week of November. To date, over 150 thousand of croci have welcomed spring each year along main traffic channels, including ul Na Ostatnim Groszu, Lotnicza, Karkonoska, Plac Strzegomski, or in greens around the Old Town.
The Grounds Management is planning to have over 2 thousand bulbous flowers planted: croci, daffodils, tulips. They will return in full bloom in spring in Plac Kościuszki, in Św. O. Damian de Veuster Place, in greens near Plac św Mikołaja and Plac Legionów, in Plac Powstańców Wielkopolskich, in Szczytnicki Park, in Klecina and Gajowicka-Orla Roundabouts, in ul. Swobodna and Waligórskiego, in Grabiszyński and Langiewicza Parks and in Anielewicza Green.
This is the first time bulbous plants will be planted in Park Szczytnicki with mechanised means using a special planter. The work will be performed manually in other locations.
We cannot wait to see next spring.
