  3. At the school at Grochowa Street, there will be modern playing fields. We have visualisations!

Modern basketball and volleyball courts, CCTV, bicycle racks and additional greenery – these are only some of the changes to be introduced in the Primary School No. 43 at Grochowa Street in Wroclaw. Pupils will be delighted! Importantly, the refurbishment will only take six months! Check out the visualisations.

The Primary School at Grochowa Street is another Wroclaw facility where modern playing fields will be built. The old and run-down ones will be replaced by modern facilities with a professional surface.

Friendly surface and more greenery

The city has opened bids for the refurbishment of the old and dilapidated playing fields at the Primary School No. 43 at Grochowa Street in Wroclaw. They were submitted by three contractors and are now being examined for compliance with the contract.

Jacek Sutryk, Mayor of Wroclaw: ‘In addition to building new facilities, such as the one at Zwycięska Street, the city is extensively modernising the existing ones. Within a year, we plan to implement a few dozen major projects and a few hundred smaller ones for more than PLN 120 million. We plan to create a complex of playing fields in the Grochowa area by replacing the existing dilapidated and worn-out asphalt pitches with modern playing fields equipped with a flexible and safe EPDM surface. They will be an ideal place to play basketball and volleyball, providing the right environment for our children to develop their sporting passions. We believe that these investments will contribute to an even better educational and recreational environment for children.

The rebuilt area will be monitored and illuminated by modern and environmentally friendly lamps using LED technology. Concrete block pavements and 6-metre high football hoops will be built around the area.

Jolanta Wnęk, Director of the Municipal Investment Administration in Wroclaw: ‘There will also be new benches, litter bins and bike racks. Greenery will also be redeveloped, with around 665 shrubs such as the bladderwort and Japanese tulle to be planted. We will also establish lawns.

Courtyard without asphalt

The investment will also include the school courtyard, where the deteriorated asphalt surface will be demolished. It will be replaced by a lawn surrounded with benches, litter bins and bike racks.

Marek Marcinkowski, Principal of the Primary School No. 43: ‘I am glad that after the renovation of the catering unit and several rooms inside the facility we will also have modern playing fields. I believe that this investment will encourage pupils to be even more physically active and that everyone will be able to develop their sporting skills in an even more comfortable environment on these new playing fields.’

The investment at the Primary School No. 43 is supervised by the Municipal Investment Administration in Wroclaw. The contractor will be selected through the tender process. From the moment of signing the contract, it will have six months to complete the investment.
