Amazon Wroclaw reaches record high

Amazon has just announced that their logistics centres in Poznan and Wroclaw have registered more parcels than any other 28 newly opened Amazon centres in Europe. Each of the Polish centres has handled twice as many orders than the previous record holder.

"It is a difficult task to open a new logistics centre, and it involves a lot of commitment from our workers," says Roy Perticucci, Amazon's Vice President and EMEA Operations Director.

"The commitment and enthusiasm of our Wroclaw and Poznan employees make this project an unprecedented one from the very start. Our company has been developing rapidly in Europe, and now as the Christmas season is drawing near, the number of purchases and parcels is growing even larger. This incredible beginning gives us a boost of optimism. We look forward to developing our logistics centres in Poland and we deeply believe that they will bring satisfaction to our clients throughout Europe.. We need committed and flexible partners to support our growth and understand our innovative approach. They were easy to find in Poland," says Mr Perticucci.

Amazon's logistics centres in Poland are located in Bielany Wroclawskie near Wroclaw and in Sady near Poznan. Each centre has a usable floor space of ca 95 thousand square metres, which roughly equals 13 full-size football pitches.

"Amazon has created thousands of jobs in Poland and their managers gave us their word they would provide the best working conditions and suitable training opportunities for their employees," says Ilona Antoniszyn-Klik, Deputy Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Economy.

"We believe that the commitment, exquisite work ethics and flexibility of Polish workers will help Amazon to develop rapidly and benefit both Wroclaw and Poznan areas," says Secretaty Antoniszyn-Klik.

Amazon is still in the process of recruiting new employees. As part of the largest recruitment process in Poland's history, the company will create a total 12 thousand jobs, including at least 6.5 thousand in Wroclaw's vicinity.

Amazon offers a number of additional services to their employees, including private health care, life insurance policy, a hot meal for 1 PLN daily, 26 days of paid leave regardless of job seniority, free transport to and from work in selected locations in both regions and the innovative "Focus on Your Development" programme to give their workers a better choice and to facilitate their future careers.

Amazon is going to cover 95% of both the tuition fees and the costs of training organised and carried out by recognised nationwide teaching institutions.
