Airport in Christmas version [PHOTOS]

Passengers arriving in and departing from Wroclaw are welcomed by a huge fragrant Christmas tree. In the general access hall, a 8 metres tall tree has been erected. The installation took a few hours and a special lifting device had to be used. The tree is decorated with around 500 blue and silver glass balls. Travellers walking nearby feel also the pleasant smell of orange and cinnamon, which is inseparably connected with Christmas, and hear Christmas music playing from the inside.

‘We have ensured that every passenger feels good during that special period and the interior of the terminal evokes the warm climate of Christmas,’ says Monika Półtorzycka-Jon, Marketing and PR Manager in the Wroclaw Airport, ‘so we decided to introduce pleasant aromas and exceptional decorations.’

The Christmas mood is also created by an unusual illumination performed inside and outside the terminal. 24 internal pillars were adorned with LED bands and glass balls – altogether, around 480 pieces in colours associated with the Wroclaw airport were used. On the outside, the building is illuminated by a decoration of 8,400 LED lamps – almost 60 metres of LED band were used for each of the 14 pillars, which means a distance almost equal to 17 Olympic pools. The use of LED technology made it possible to achieve a spectacular visual effect and to reduce the consumption of energy; thus, in spite of its large scale, the decoration is energy-efficient and environment-friendly.
