  3. Red airbuses in Wroclaw. This is a novelty from the travel agency - to Egypt, Turkey, Greece

The sight of such an aircraft on the tarmac at the Wroclaw airport will surprise many passengers. After all, there have never been machines wrapped like this before. They will be provided by the Itaka travel agency, whose customers will fly by red Airbus A320s and Airbus A321s to several countries.

Air 001 is a newly-launched (for summer 2025) air brand of the Itaka travel agency, created in partnership with the European airline Electra Airways, with a fleet of eight Airbus aircraft for hire as charters. The two companies have done business together since 2022.

Airbuses under the Air 001 brand

Electra Airways provides crew, maintenance and service checks, insurance, flight planning and ground handling coordination, etc. As a result, Itaka benefits from owning an airline by entrusting regulatory and administrative duties to a business partner.

Mariusz Jańczu, CEO of Itaka Holdings: ‘For us, it is first and foremost an efficient and reliable alternative to setting up and running our own airline, which we also considered. This model is based on the recovery of direct operating costs, which allows us to fully assess profitability in each direction.’

The travel agency explains that Air 001 will enable it to offer charter flights to customers directly under its own brand (and with Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft), which will increase its flexibility and visibility in the market. In Poland, this refers to passengers at Katowice, Warsaw, Poznań and Wroclaw airports.

Charter flights from Wroclaw: 11 countries, 30 seats

During the summer season, Itaka’s Air 001 charters will fly from Wroclaw to Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Albania and the Spanish Canary Islands.

Apart from Itaka, organised holiday trips with departure from Wroclaw are offered by Rainbow, Tui, Sun&Fun Holidays, Anex and JoinUp!

‘The number of charter connections is growing dynamically,’ assures Bartosz Wiśniewski from the Wroclaw Airport. 'Tourists will be able to choose from more than 30 destinations in 11 countries. The most interesting destinations include Madagascar’s Nosy Be, Portugal's Madeira, Tunisia's Monastir and Greece's Heraklion, which was very popular last summer,’ he adds.

Countries covered by the offer of all travel agencies operating at the Wroclaw Airport: Egypt, Cyprus, Albania, Bulgaria, Italy, Tunisia, Portugal, Madagascar, Oman, Kenya and the United Arab Emirates (during the winter season).

Please remember that, because of the ongoing reconstruction, Wroclaw Airport will be closed from 26th October till 4th December 2025.
