Open-air bars and spots in Wroclaw [LIST]

Some of this year’s spots are known to us from previous years. However, some places in the capital of Lower Silesia will only have their “open-air premiere” this year. It is worth stressing that open-air bars and spots are usually open in the summer season only.

New Creative Space on Plac Społeczny square

Let’s begin with this year’s novelty that appeared on Plac Społeczny square. “Plac Społeczny. Creative Space” is a new meeting place on the map of Wroclaw, which has come into being thanks to the perseverance and commitment of city activists. According to artistic plans of the creators of this project, Plac Społeczny square should be open to all people looking for possible ways of expression and alternative methods of conquest of the urban space. It also an excellent place to relax in the open air in the heart of the city. The bar is open every day from 12:00 p.m. till late evening hours. You can sit here on deckchairs and drink cold beverages or beer. Apart from that, open-air concerts will be held here once a week under the Miejskie Granie 2015 cycle till the end of the summer.

Cafes on water near Wyspa Słodowa

Wyspa Słodowa is one of the most popular places of open-air relax and rest in Wroclaw. For the last few years, catering barges have moored on its shore; they serve mainly cold beverages and beer, and some of them also organise regular summer music events. Most of them have their own toilets, too. This year one of the barges will be moored also on the shore facing the Bielarska island.

Sand, water, sun – a beach near the Zwierzyniecka footbridge

Right near the Zwierzyniecka footbridge, near the entrance to the zoo, a city beach is available again this year. It is an ideal place for sunbathing, playing beach volleyball, drinking cold beverages and relaxing. You can arrive there by water tram or hire a kayak or a rowing boat. You can also find here a wooden structure called “Polegiwacz”, which stood near the Wroclaw Museum of Architecture last year. The beach is open every day from 10:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. (or till the last customer).

Cafe Barge in Gondola Bay

This pleasantly shaded place is ideal for those who prefer hiding from the burning sun. The Café Barge is situated in the bay located between the Wzgórze Polskie hill and the National Museum opposite the Panorama Racławicka museum. The café serves coffee, cold beverages and sweets. Near the Café Barge there is the Gondola Bay, where you can hire a kayak or a boat or use a water tram to take a water trip across Wroclaw. The Café Barge is open every day from 10:00 a.m. till the last customer.
