This year, unlike 10 years ago, the primary method of filling in the forms will be the Internet self-enumeration. The form will be made available on www.spis.gov.pl on 1st April, and its filling will be compulsory . Enumerators will visit or call those for whom self-enumeration is not possible.
1,202 enumerators will be employed in the Lower Silesia Province, including 268 in Wroclaw.
‘The census data are important. Much information on forms is collected only during the census. Every 10 years. This refers, for example, to statistical data about the level of education or the degree of disability. Without knowledge in this respect, institutions and offices would act blindly,’ explains Alicja Pietrusiewicz from the Statistical Office in Wroclaw.
It will take us 15 minutes to fill in the form
‘Internet self-enumeration is the simplest and fastest method. We strongly recommend it. Everyone can fill in the form on their smartphone, computer or tablet. This will take about 15 minutes. These forms are user-friendly. The questions have been designed in an easy way. If anyone finds it difficult to fill in the form, they can call the helpline,’ adds Alicja Pietrusiewicz.
A special census helpline (22 279 99 99) will be launched from 15th March.
The census covers also migrants
As we learned in the Wroclaw Statistical Office, the obligation to fill in the census form will apply also to foreigners living in Poland. With these citizens in mind, documents in other languages, including Ukrainian, English or German, are under preparation.
The National Census 2021 will last 6 months.
On 2nd February, the government adopted the draft amendment of the Act on the National Population and Housing Census 2021.
According to the draft amendment, the duration of the census will be prolonged to six months. This is the initiative of Statistics Poland. Its aim is to ensure that the pandemic does not prevent enumerators from being out in the field.
