"Our crew is now training hard, we're going to descend on water for the first time this year next week," says Paweł Rańda, President of the Wroclaw University of Technology Sports Academic Club.
The second day of the tournament is going to simply burst with excitement. On Saturday 30 May, the races will be held from 12.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The tournament has attracted over 20 different crews, and those who wish to take part can still apply.
On Sunday 31. May, the wharf of the newly renovated former riverside hostel is going to host a huge family picnic will be held to celebrate Children's Day. "There will be one more event going on on Wyspa Słodowa, which is going to be more polished, while ours is just one huge load of sports attaction for the entire family," says Paweł Rańda. "You will also be able to jump on the water tram to see which event is more enjoyable."
Paweł Rańda also let us in on the international plans of the Wroclaw University of Technology rowing team. The Thames Regatta London is the most important event of the season.. "We are talking about a great tournament and international recognition. There are so many people willing to take part that the organisers had to set the limit and are going to invite 400 crews only. I would like the Odra River Cup to achieve such recognition. I'm dreaming of the day when we are not able to accept all the applications," says Paweł Rańda.
