Eccentric genius
Everybody knows Michael Jackson. But all the same, here's some crucial details, out of our journalistic duty: the sixth anniversary of the artist's death (still shrouded in mystery) falls on this Thursday; he died at the age of 51; as a child he performed with The Jackson's Five, then released several solo records, the four of which at least ("Off The Wall", "Thriller", "Bad" i "Dangerous") are now real milestones in the history of pop music; he promoted a vast number of fantastic hits, had legal trouble (accused of child sexual abuse) and was both quite eccentric (to say the least) and mentally unstable. However, he was also a genius. This is just a synopsis. It's as if we didn't know about this.
Celebrate and guests
Celebrate are a Wroclaw-based band who took to Michael Jackson's repertoire. They usually perform in the following line-up: Marta Kołodziejczyk (vocals), Piotr Świętoniowski (keyboard), Michał Pawliszewski (guitar), Krzysztof Łabaz (bass guitar) and Paweł Ostrowski (drums). This time round they will be accompanied by several eminent guests, including Bartek Pająk on the drums and an exclusively female string trio with Olga Kwiatek on violin, Ewa Hofman on viola and Bożena Rodzeń-Jarosz on cello. A group of exquisite singers, no offence intended to the instrumentalists. are also going to join the event. These include a few household names such as Alicja Janosz, who is going to strut her X factor and is also best remembered for her collaboration with Miloopa Natalia Lubrano, and such talented artists as Paulina Lenda, Anna Kłys, Agnieszka Damrych, Andrzej Strzemżalski and Tomasz Leszczyński. This select company is simply bound to give a professional and captivating rendition of Michael Jackson's repertoire. The band have posted the following words on Facebook: "We are really excited and we look forward to a great evening!" We also look forward to the event.
