According to rynek-kolejowy.pl, the new train service will be funded by the Czech government (four pairs of trains a day) and can be prolonged to Gdynia. Trains will run on the Prague – Pardubice – Letohrad – Wroclaw route. The launch of the service is scheduled for December 2024, when a new timetable will be introduced.
The railway website notes that Czech railways are well prepared to enter the Polish market, because PKP Intercity already uses their locomotives.
We requested the Ministry of Infrastructure to confirm the information about new Prague – Wroclaw railway connections. We are waiting for the reply.
As you may remember, in May the Office of Rail Transport informed about the introduction of daily train service on the Wroclaw – Prague route by the Czech company Leo Express. Before the pandemic, these trains ran only on weekends. From December 2024, Leo Express can introduce four trains a day. They will stop at the following stations: Międzylesie, Bystrzyca Kłodzka, Kłodzko Miasto, Bardo Śląskie, Kamieniec Ząbkowicki, Ziębice, Strzelin and Wrocław Główny.
