After nearly a year of archaeological excavations, the construction of the Times II office building is gaining momentum. The building will be situated in the very centre of the city, at the intersection of Ruska and Kazimierza Wielkiego streets. This location is very interesting from the historical point of view as elements of 12th-century buildings were found there.
"Many small artefacts were also found. The historical architecture was secured under the supervision of the conservation officer", said Katarzyna Szumańska-Kalisz from the UBM company.
Car park and offices
Excavators are already working at the site near Ruska and Św. Mikołaja streets. The site is being prepared for the construction works.
"At present, the excavation is being protected, the earth works are being performed, and the archaeological excavations are being finished", added Katarzyna Szumańska-Kalisz.
The project consists in construction of two buildings and a multi-story public car park. The complex will comprise about 18 thousand square meters of office space, 2.5 thousand square meters of service space, and about 370 parking spots.
"The office building will be integrated into the existing historical buildings in such a way that the façade conforms to the historical nature of the Old Town. The architectural design was prepared by the Authors' Architectural Studio APA Hubka (Autorska Pracownia Architektoniczna APA Hubka)", informed Katarzyna Szumańska-Kalisz.
The construction works on the Times II office building will continue until the end of 2015.
