As many as 700 persons will be employed at the Hilton hotel\\\'s construction site

For nearly a month, the general contractor, Eiffage Polska Budownictwo S.A., has been conducting intensive works at the construction site of the OVO Wroclaw - a complex of luxury apartments, offices, and a five-star Hilton hotel. It will be completed in two years.

In mid-April, clean-up works started at the construction site. So far, the contractor's temporary plant and facilities have been organized, the utilities have been organized, the containers have been set in place, the fence has been relocated, and the diaphragm has been reinforced. Also, the concrete bedding has been poured. The contractor has prepared a precise plan for traffic at the construction site and detours around the site.

In late April, excavators and dump trucks entered the site and construction works that involved, among others, deepening of the excavation started.

"Eleven thousand cubic meters of the soil still need to be transported away", said Marcin Kaznowski, the project manager at the OVO Wroclaw site. "Currently, the building design and the tender design are ready and Eiffage is working hard on the detailed design.

The next stage is to start working on the over-ground structure. The foundations should be ready in late July or early August. During the most intensive works, up to 700 persons will work at the site at the same time. In one year, the structure of the building will be completed and then the finishing works.

The futuristic OVO Wroclaw complex will be located at ul. Podwale 82-91, next to the Central Post Office, Park Słowackiego, and the city moat. It will have 9 floors, to include 2 in the basement, and will reach the height of 25 meters above the ground level.

OVO Wroclaw was designed by Gottesman-Szmelcman Architecture. The visionary concept combines several functions in a single building: exclusive apartments, offices, service premises, a fitness centre, and the DoubleTree by Hilton five star hotel, with nearly 200 luxury rooms, a restaurant, and a casino. The residential part of the OVO will consist of 168 apartments, to include
26 penthouses on the top floor.

So far, 40 percent of the apartments, which have been very popular from the start, have been sold. 100 apartments are still available.

The façade of the building will have a unique appearance. It will have a streamlined form resembling a drop of water. The investor in this futuristic design is Wings Properties Sp. z o.o., a member of the Star Group Poland, a large developer group. One of the projects implemented by the group is The Granary hotel in Wroclaw.

The cost of the OVO Wroclaw project is PLN 260 million.
