Tutaj, 2 lipca 1988 roku uczestnicy Ruchu ‚„Wolność i Pokój” spalili
książeczki wojskowe w proteście przeciw uwięzieniu swoich kolegów przez reżim
komunistyczny. W latach 1985-1989 Ruch „Wolność i Pokój” doprowadził do zniesienia
antypolskiej przysięgi wojskowej, wywalczył służbę zastępczą poborowych, bronił
środowiska naturalnego i wspierał prawa mniejszości narodowych.
Here, on 2 July 1988, the participants of the Freedom and Peace” Movement burned
down their military lDs in the protest against imprisonment of their colleagues by the
communist regime. In the years 1985-1989 the Freedom and Peace” Movement carried
through to abolition of anti-Polish military oath and won the substitute of military service
of the conscripts, defended natural environment and supported ethnic minority rights.
