Walter Bathe (1892 - 1959) Tutaj, na basenie przy ulicy Teatralnej trenował wybitny wrocławski pływak,
Walter Bathe. W 1910r. ustanowił rekord świata w pływaniu stylem klasycznym
na dystansie 100 m, osiągając wynik 1:17,8 min. Na Olimpiadzie w Sztokholmie
w 1912r. zdobył dwa złote medale na 200 i 400 m stylem klasycznym.
Po zakończeniu kariery sportowej w 1930r. pracował jako aptekarz we Wrocławiu.
An outstanding Wrocław swimmer Walter Bathe was training at this swimming
pool. In 1910 he set a world record for the 100 m in the breast-stroke
style with time of 1:17.8 min. At the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm
he won two gold medals in the 200 m and 400 m in breast-stroke style.
After ending his sport career in 1930, he worked as a chemist in Wrocław.
