Jedna z najwczesniejszych i najbardziej znanych prac artysty - w przedstawionej tu jednoplanszowej wersji
powstała w 1967 roku. Z czasem rozbudowana w cykl złożony z 54 plansz, oparty na permutacji słów było, jest, będzie.
Klepsydra to medytacia nad strumieniem czasu. Czas zostal ukazany jako przestrzenny obraz, trzy slowa okreslajace jego
przemijanie i trwanie, zapisane są w postaci szeregu ich kolejnych graficznych ukladów. Praca z kolekcji Dolnośląskiego
Towarzystwa Zachęty Sztuk Pięknych we Wroclawiu. Mural na tym gmachu wykonano w 2009 roku.

One of the earliest and best known works ofthe artist — it was created in 1967 in the presented single—board version.
In the coures of time it developed into a 54 board version based on a word permutation of was, is, will be. Hour-glass is
a meditation on the stream of time. Time was shown as a spatial picture, three words denominating its passing and duration,
are recorded in a series of subsequent graphic arrangements. The work comes from the collection of the Lower Silesian
Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts Zacheta in Wroclaw, The mural on the building was made in 2009.

Jego utwory, powstające od 1967 roku, to dziela z pogranicza literatury i sztuk wizualnych — będące jednoczesnie tekstem
i obrazem. Opracowywane czesto jako wieloelementowe systemy, wykorzystywały znaki języka werbalnego oraz symbole
i algorytmy matematyczne. Stanislaw Dróżdż reprezentowal Polske na 50. Biennale Sztuki w Wenecji w 2003 roku.
Żył i tworzył we Wrocławiu.
Stanislaw Dróżdż - the most prominent concrete poet and one of the most meaningful artists of Polish avant-garde.
His works created since 1967 - being text and picture at the same time - are from the borderland of literature and visual arts.
Often as multielement systems, they made use of verbal language signs, symbols and mathematical algorithms. In 2003
he represented Poland at the 50th International Art Biennale in Venice. Lived and worked in Wroclaw.
