Tu, po krwawym stłumieniu protestu na Placu Tienanmen w Pekinie 4 czerwca
1989 roku, wrocławska młodzież założyła Obóz Żywego Protestu. Tygodniową
akcję zakończyło odsłonięcie pomnika „Pamięci ofiar komunistycznego rządu chińskiego”.
Dwa dni później władza komunistyczna, mimo przegranych wyborów czerwcowych
w Polsce, pomnik usunęła. Obecny jest repliką z 1999 roku.
Here, after the bloody quashing of the Tienanmen Square protests in Beijing,
on the 4th of June 1989, young people of Wrocław organised the Camp of Living Protest.
The week-long campaign was crowned with the unveiling of the Victims of Chinese
Communist regime” memorial. Two days later the Polish Communist Government,
despite haying lost the elections, had the memorial removed.
The current one is a replica, made in 1999.
