Ladies and gentlemen!

Wrocław is an European city with traditions and history dating back many centuries ago. It is the place where Eastern and Western Europe overlap. Wrocław city-dwellers are proud of the historical heritage of their city, but at the same time they wish to participate in the ongoing city development. Wrocław, backed up by the Polish government and other Polish cities, is a candidate for organizing the international exhibition - EXPO 2012. What is more, it was selected as the city where the European Institute of Technology could be based. The initiative of the European Commission provides for creation of knowledge-based economy, which actively supports business activities. Consequently, Wrocław will stand a chance of becoming a modern centre of technology on the European arena.

So far the city has established cooperation with dozen of companies, such as SKANSKA S.A., BERGER BAU GMBH, BICKHARDT BAU, MOTA ENGIL S.A., NCC INDUSTRI POLSKA Sp. z o.o. ECM GROUP POLSKA Sp. z o.o., Budownictwo Drogowe ALTKOM Sp. z o.o., BUDIMEX DROMEX S.A.

In 2007 Fitch Ratings graded the city high as “A- with stable outlook”.

An ambitious strategy aimed at continuous city development seeks to make Wrocław a centre, where investment, education and innovative economy develop thanks to strong, effective and mutual partner connections between public and private sectors.

In the 2007 city budget over 1 billion PLN is scheduled for investment, and each year the number of investments financed from the city budget will be growing.
