Wroclaw City Bike 2015

700 city bikes will be available from noon on April 28. The season will run until late autumn.

City bikes have returned to the streets of the city. This year, a much bigger system than in previous years has been made available for Wroclawians, consisting of 70 stations and 700 bikes. Moreover, subsequent sponsored stations will be opened on an ongoing basis. Currently, there are two - at the Arkady Wroclaw shopping centre and Sky Tower. This makes the WRM system as big as 72 stations and 720 bikes. The expansion of the bike sharing network is not the only change awaiting the cyclists. From this season on, Wroclaw City Bike (WRM, Wroclawski Rower Miejski) enters a higher technological level. Thanks to modern e-locks, renting will become even faster and more convenient. This is related to the changes in renting and return bicycles, with which every user should familiarise before the start of the season.

How to register in the WMR system?

The registration system remains unchanged compared to the previous years. Users can register via the new website of the Wroclaw City Bike . As before, fill out the form and accept the regulations, and then just make an entry payment to activate your new WRM user account. When the registration process is completed, the user receives an e-mail and a text message with a confirmation and an individual PIN number. Nextbike Poland, the system operator, informs that starting from this season, the WRM account is active (allowing for using the bicycles), only with a minimum deposit of 10 PLN.

How to rent a bike?

Thanks to e-locks, the renting process will be considerably simpler. The basic steps are the same as before. Simply approach the terminal and press "Rent" on the computer's dashboard. Then log in with your mobile phone number and individual PIN provided at registration, and type the number of bike you want to rent. This one is new! The selected bike will be released automatically.

The combination lock, which Wroclawians used to date, will be a useful addition the user will want protect their bicycle during breaks in the rental period (e.g. for coffee or shopping), or when all the electric locks are occupied at the return to the station. Therefore, we recommend writing down the code to the combination lock, which is shown on the display at the moment of renting. If a bike happens to be secured to the station with a combination lock, just unlock it using this code.

Renting will be even more convenient if you combine your WRM user account with any proximity card (e.g. the Urban Card). To integrate the card with the system for the first time, just hold it against the station's reader and then type a phone number and PIN. From then on, you can log in to rent a bike using the card.

How to return a bike?

Yet another new feature, resulting from introducing e-locks, relates to returning the bike. To do it, just insert the bike into the electric lock. A correct bike return is confirmed with a beep. No additional operations at the station are required in such a case. If the station does not offer free space, just lock the bike with a combination lock to another bike or the bike rack, reshuffle the digits, approach the terminal, press "Return" and follow the instructions on the display. This is the same returning procedure as used by Wroclawians before.

Where can I find answers to my questions?

A detailed instruction on the use of bicycles can be found located at each station and at www.wroclawskirower.pl . In case of any doubts or questions, users can contact the Customer Service hotline: 71 738 11 11, 71 715 27 72 (available 24/7), as well as visit a brick-and-mortar Customer Service office, which will start operating this week at ul. św. Antoniego 8 (open: Tuesday 6-16, Thursday 11-21). On site, you can open the WRM account and get answers to any questions concerning the operation of city bikes.
