The building at Pl. Jana Pawła II is already covered with scaffolds, and the repair includes the renovation of the front façade – cleaning, supplementation of plasters and architectural details, cleaning of window grates and replacement of copper flashings. Conservators will also refurbish escutcheons, the clock tower and figures presenting muses. The thermo-modernisation of the back part of the building of the Academy is planned. The roof will also be partly renovated. In the last stage of works, the building of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music will be painted.
‘The cost of repair will be over 1,125,000 PLN, which will be contributed from a designated subsidy from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage,’ informs Rafał Jendraszek from the Academy of Music. Works will continue till November.
The last repair of the façade took place at the beginning of the 1990s.
