A fence was put up around the site, and building teams appeared on the spot. Until the end of year, they are to reconstruct the square near Copernicus Monument and a fragment of the Old Town Promenade on the section from ul. P. Skargi from the entrance to the Kopernik Park in Wroclaw.
The detailed scope of work is stated below:
- restoration of the 19th-century composition layout of the part of the promenade,
- renovation of the pedestrian and road transport layout,
- reconstruction of the square near Nicolaus Copernicus Monument,
- recomposition of the plant cover arrangement to the 19th-century composition layout of the promenade with maximum adaptation of the existing greenery,
- along with development of the square greenery near the monument (deciduous trees, shrubs, perennial plants, grasses, bulb plants will appear),
- installation of landscaping elements: lawn aprons, park benches, dustbins, grates under trees,
- construction of lighting and greenery rehydration system,
- renovation of Nicolaus Copernicus Monument.
Entrances to Nicolaus Copernicus Park (Old Town Garden) and the entrance to the square area from the side of ul. P. Skargi will be decorated with seasonal flowerbeds.
‘Four perennial flowerbeds fenced off with architectural concrete walls will appear on the Nicolaus Copernicus square. We will also enrich this area with ball-shaped seats of various sizes – they will also be made of architectural concrete, which will be a reference to planets. “Puff” seats as well as park benches and dustbins will be installed on the square at ul. Teatralna 4,’ says Krzysztof Działa, the director of the City Green Administration. 
The investment should be completed by the end of this year. ‘It will be a very modern public space with landscaping elements – ball-shaped seats symbolising the arrangement of planets,’ said the Deputy Mayor of Wroclaw Adam Grehl about the project at a press conference in July.
And, first of all, it will be a green space, because the number of flowerbeds will increase, including species that will change their colours from spring till late autumn. New trees (maples, planes etc.) and various shrubs will be planted in the total number of 3,000 pcs. The investment will cost around 1.3 million PLN.
