Three concerts, including the world première of the symphony "Ubi Caritas" by Jan Botor and choral workshops conducted by Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny. These are key attractions of 13. edition of the festival, which start on 6 October.

The event brings together people of different denominations united with one Franciscan slogan: peace and good. All performances are free of charge, and this year's edition is held under the auspices of the European Capital of Culture 2016.

The name of the festival derives from the Franciscan call "pax et bonum", which means "peace and good". The organisers added "per musicam" (through music) to the slogan in order to emphasises that one can do good through beautiful music and unique performance settings. The artists also contribute to the idea. Every year they create a composition to celebrate the event. This year's attraction is the symphony Ubi Caritas by Jan Botor, who is primarily known as a great organ performer. This time round, however, he is acting in a composer's capacity. His work is designed to accommodate three different choirs (featured in the workshops: Jewish, Orthodox and Lutheran choirs), a small symphonic orchestra (Amadeus, conducted by Agnieszka Duczmal's daughter, Anna Duczmal-Mróz), an organ and a shofar (an ancient musical horn made of ram's horn, used for Jewish religious purposes).

However, it is worth attending other events, including an organ recital by Witold Zalewski, the Organ Master at the Wawel Cathedral, Kraków, who is going to perform a programme featuring organ master works by Dietrich Buxtehude, J.S. Bach and Max Reger, as well as works by Polish composers. A performance from the ensemble Mudéjar from Spain brings a sensational blend of Sephardic inspirations performed on specially designed copies of the instruments from the era.

The organisers, including the members of the "Pax et Bonum" Foundation (Father Tobiasz Fiećko from the Franciscan Parish of Saint Anthony in Karłowice) and the local music enthusiasts such a Bogna Adamczyk continue the tradition of providing free access to the festival. This year is no different in this respect. For a few days throughout the festival (6-10 October), the audience can also attend choral workshops featuring three ensembles representing three different cultures. Admission is free of charge.
