’We didn’t know that the one millionth guest was being expected in the zoo today. In the morning, we made a spontaneous decision to visit the zoological garden and see the Africarium at least’, says Anna. When it turned out that they crossed the gate of the zoo as one-millionth visitors, they were astonished. ‘It's a great surprise, indeed!’ adds Piotr.
It was known from the very beginning that the Africarium would be a big success. It is visited by guests not only from Poland, but also other European countries. And the Africarium keeps growing. New species of animals appear. Penguins have their first offspring. And many fish that we see behind the glass were born already in Wroclaw. Every day an uninterruptedly long queue of visitors waits in front of the Africarium. Fortunately, the zoo staff assures that everything proceeds quickly and it takes about half an hour of waiting to enter the zoo. ‘I hope that the two-millionth visitor will cross the zoo gate already this year,’ says Radosław Ratajszczak, the president of the zoo.
