  3. New car park at Centenary Hall [PRICES]
New car park at Centenary Hall [PRICES]

First cars are expected to enter the new car park at the Centenary Hall next week. Car park operators will charge 6 PLN per hour.

"The price was set at 6 PLN and 12 PLN per each new hour for cars and buses, respectively. The cost of parking your car for an entire day should not exceed 60 PLN. If the price was established at a lower level, the licensed company would not be able to secure sufficient return on investment," says the announcement prepared by the Press Office at Budimex S.A.

The car park will be open 24/7.. The car park took 15 months to complete. The facility offers 792 parking spaces in total. As part of the contract, Budimex Parking Wroclaw have designed and financed the development of the car park and will also operate it until the concession contract expires, that is, 31 August 2042.

Gas-fuelled cars are also welcome

Interestingly enough, the car park may also be accessed by gas-fuelled vehicles. "Car park operators usually disallow this, but the cars like these enter their facilities all the same. We allow the drivers of such vehicles to enter the park because the facility has special sensors that detect propane butane if its concentration levels in the air are too high," says Marek Fąfara from Budimex S.A., the company that operates the car park.

Traffic organisation to change

The construction of the car park entails a number of investments in its immediate vicinity. These include a new intersection, bicycle trail, traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. The Urban Engineering Department seeks to improve pedestrian and bicycle communication in the area. Car parks are being built to improve the situation. As soon as it is free from cars, the urban space will serve cyclists and pedestrians. Additionally, the Road and City Infrastructure Management Office is now carrying out works to protect green areas on ul Parkowa, Witelona, Bartla and Dembowskiego against illegal parking. It will not be possible to park by the zoo."The work is still in progress in the area. We are gradually improving traffic at the moment. Special parking spaces for disabled persons and a parking bay for buses will be created by the zoo. Special posts will also be installed on ul Wróblewskiego from the Zwierzyniecki Bridge along the zoo and at the second side of the bridge next to the Centenary Hall from ul Mickiewicza to ul Wystawowa. The works should be completed by the end of summer holiday," says Ewa Mazur from the Road and City Infrastructure Management Office. Changes in traffic should be put in place as of 1 August, and everything will get back to normal in two weeks. Changes on ul Wystawowa will be put in place after the World Championships in Volleyball, that is, at the second part of September.jk
