  3. Lufthansa spreading wings in Wroclaw

The largest German airline likes Wroclaw and Lower Silesia very much. Lufthansa's General Manager, Bart Buyse met representatives of the Lower Silesia's businesses yesterday and today he discussed his plans to develop the airline's services from the Wroclaw Airport. "Wroclaw and the entire region will surely benefit from this because good air services stimulate business contacts and the economy", Dariusz Kuś, the president of the Wroclaw airport expressed his joy at the news. Currently Lufthansa offers flights to such destinations as Munich and Frankfurt. Thanks to those flights (these two are the two largest hub airports in Europe), every airport in the World is accessible from Wroclaw.

New class in aircraft

"We consider the Wroclaw airport to be the best in Poland, and thanks to the new flights from Wroclaw to Munich and Frankfurt and the larger aircraft that we will use from now on the number of seats offered by Lufthansa in Poland will increase by 30 percent", said Bart Buyse. Today in Wroclaw, the airline representative also announced the launch of a new class in its aircraft: the so-called premium economy class. "This will be a combination of the business class and the economy class. The prices will be the same as in the economy class but the services will be the same as in the business class", explained Lufthansa's director. In early April, Lufthansa launched a new offer. Every person who purchased business class tickets can count on special services at the Wroclaw airport. They will get access to the best parking lots, individual service, an elegant VIP lounge, and transport to the aircraft in a Jaguar.

A skiing trip to Bavaria

Florian Poetsch from the Munich airport also visited Wroclaw today. He discussed, among other things, the offer that the Munich airport and Lufthansa started in Bavaria's capital. It is addressed mostly to skiers from Wroclaw and Lower Silesia.

"All you need to do is to board a plane in Wroclaw and we will organize transport from Munich all the way to hotels in the best ski resorts", said Florian Poetsch. The Munich airport wants to attract more and more customers from Poland. "There were about 350,000 of them in 2013 but we expect more this year", said Poetsch.

Timeline of the new flights

When asked about the new flights and more planes flying from Wroclaw, the Lufthansa's representatives did not provide any details. "We believe in Wroclaw and its airport. We will certainly develop our services here. However, possible decisions concerning new flights or additional aircraft will be made after the end of this season", concluded Bart Buyse.
