Iron Maiden’s concert in Wroclaw [PHOTOS]

The festival for heavy metal fans began shortly after 9:00 p.m., when six musicians of Iron Maiden appeared on stage.

The first sounds of ‘If Eternity Should Fail’ filled the air, introducing an atmosphere of anticipation – a sort of ‘calm before the storm’. The audience willingly submitted to this atmosphere. Then it only got faster and more dynamic.The vocalist Bruce Dickinson immediately established common ground with the audience. After the second track (Speed of Light), he remarked that very much had changed since the band’s first concert in Poland in 1984 – Poland had become a free country. Then, the concert continued – an unusual performance containing everything that the audience expected: dark scenography, a wall of guitar sounds and plenty of energy.

During ‘The Book of Souls’, the band’s legendary giant mascot Eddie appeared on stage. His struggle with musicians ended badly for him – Bruce tore his heart out and threw it into the audience, which obviously aroused their applause. Then the band played, among others, ‘Fear of the Dark’, ‘The Number of the Beast’ and ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’.

And suddenly the concert came to an end, and 35,000 people left the stadium politely – the festival was over.

The first of them took place in the USA in February, and further performances followed in Mexico and El Salvador. The European part of the tour began in May, when Iron Maiden gave three concerts in Germany, and then also in Switzerland, Netherlands, France and Scandinavia.
