Expansion of 3M plant completed

The plant has obtained an additional area of 13,000 square metres

A construction company from Łódź, MCKB, has completed a project for the expansion of a Wroclaw 3M production plant located in the Walbrzych Special Economic Zone in Wroclaw. Due to the investment, the production plant which belongs to an American concern and is located at ul. Kowalska 143 has obtained an additional new usable area of over thirteen thousand square metres.

Construction works started in September 2012. The investment included the development of the already operating production plant plus road and technical infrastructure as well as the erection of a two-storey social and office building. The project led to the construction of office, storage and production space as well as technical rooms (boiler room, compressor room, switching station and transformer station), fire roads, manoeuvre areas and car parks.

As regards the already existing part, office rooms were re-arranged, the warehouse was expanded and rebuilt and an area was provided for new production lines, which widened the range of produced materials. A Wroclaw company, Lorien Engineering Polska, was responsible for drawing the construction project and providing all the required documents and permits. The company from Łódź, MCKB, prepared and executed discipline work packages, excluding steelwork and foundations.
