Detective Mock and the Centennial Hall

During cleanup work,a document was found in one of the unused rooms of the Centennial Hall. It comes from the times when Wroclaw was called Breslau, and the building itself bore the name Jahrhunderthalle.

In March this year, cleanup work began in the Centennial Hall, associated with the need to conduct a construction inventory. The documentation is required as part of a grant application to complete the renovation of the Hall and to prepare a conservation plan, required for the UNESCO buildings. In an unused room next to the Imperial Hall a deep nook was discovered, which was news to everyone. The niche has not been marked on any building plans. When the waste and garbage was removed, it turned out that there is enough space to explore the interior. There, a heavily damaged document was found, in German, which includes a list of names and bears the date of May 1913.

The list contains names of representatives of institutions such as the construction supervision, city hall, or police force. One of the names is most likely Eberhardt Mock, a namesake of a the protagonist in a mystery novel by Marek Krajewski.

Therefore, Andrzej Baworowski, CEO of WP Hala Ludowa Sp. z o.o., contacted the famous writer and informed him about the discovery. When Marek Krajewski learned of the discovery, he decided to continue the series featuring the character Mock.

Due to the fact that the document was in poor condition, the Management Board of WP Hala Ludowa Sp. z o.o. decided to send it for inspection and cleaning, and it has since been deposited in the Company's archives.

Meanwhile, a new book by Marek Krajewski, "Mock," will be launched on September 14. The plot takes place in 1913; the young crime sergeant Eberhard Mock is at risk of losing everything as a result of a moral scandal, in which he became involved. He faces expulsion from the police, but can't just let his career fail; there is too much at stake. Ferociously determined, he plunges into the investigation, which is painfully unpredictable - it will either save his career, or lead him to a downfall. In the Centennial Hall, naked bodies of four high school students were found. Above them, like a macabre Icarus, hangs a male corpse with wings attached to his shoulders. Is it suicide, or perhaps a ritual murder? Who is to blame? The Jews? Masons? What Mock doesn't know is that this case will open before him the darkest recesses of the human soul, and he will learn that in his profession there is no place neither for trust, nor pity.
