Hydropolis has attracted high ratings so far and, together with the EC1 Planetarium and the Łódzka Centrum Tram Station (both in Łódź), is in the lead of the competition. If you wish to vote in the competition, you need to provide your personal details (name, surname, postcode, phone number and email address) and explain in 200 characters why the place you choose should be among the "7 Wonders of Poland". You can vote once in 24 hours. The results of the competition will be published in the November issue of "National Geographic Traveler" and at ww.national-geographic.pl.
Wroclaw's Hydropolis and Kliczków Castle are the only two attractions representing Lower Silesia.
You can vote between 15 July and 31 August online at the competition's website.
Hydropolis
Hydropolis, or the Water Knowledge Centre was launched in December 2015. This the only centre of this kind in Poland and one of the few worldwide. Hydropolis is a state-of-the-art knowledge centre that brings a myriad of discoveries in technology and interesting exhibitions. This is a place for you if you like to combine education with pleasure.
The venue is located in a historic building in ul Na Grobli. The building was designed as a water tank in 1893. In 2015, the venue was converted into a knowledge reservoir, as it were. Both Wroclaw and Poland simply needed a place like this. Water is absolutely necessary to sustain our planet and far more important than all of the gold, diamonds and wealth of the world. Hence the idea to develop knowledge on the subject in Wroclaw.
Hydropolis is designed for people of all ages. That being said, its primary focus is on children and young people. The centre used a variety of multimedia to attract their attention. The exhibition is over 4 thousand sqm in size.
